Some of the Morningside and Shaw Park Tennis Centre’s young talent was on display at the Morningside Tennis Centre last Friday when club coaches Brendan Underwood (Morningside) & David Reade (Shaw Park) held a development squad day.
The squad ran from 9.00am to 3.00pm and players were taken through a host of drills, games & tactical exercises aimed at preparing them for competition and tournament play.
This squad has built on the success of Morningside’s inaugural Super 10s season, which was won by Ronan Wright. Super 10s is the perfect introduction to competitive tennis with players getting into the game in a fun, social environment with a modified scoring and points system.
Term 2 will see the competition expanded further with an extra division added (predominately for 8 & under players), more matches and more prizes on offer! There will also be regular updates on our Facebook page so everyone knows exactly where they stand with their club rank! Players competing in the Term 2 will also be up for selection for our Super 10s Tournament Squad. More details to follow.
