Dear Morningside Tennis Centre Members, Players & Parents.
First and foremost, a massive thanks to everyone for being part of a brilliant 2013! This has been a huge year for the club – All of our renovations have been completed leaving us with one of Brisbane’s nicest tennis facilities, our coaching program has become one of the largest in Queensland with over 600 people taking part in lessons in 2013 and we also have over 120 players playing in the Tennis Brisbane Superleague competition each week making us one of the largest clubs in Brisbane!
However, no matter how successful a year it’s been we’re looking forward to making 2014 even bigger and better and have made a few changes that we’re really excited about!
MEMBERSHIPS
In 2014 membership of the Morningside Tennis Club and Queensland Community Lawn Tennis Association will be $12. That’s not a misprint. We haven’t forgotten any zeroes. $12 for the entire year.
Not only that, included in that $12 is – membership to the MTC which gives you discounts on court hire, social tennis as well as some additional benefits, Tennis Queensland membership valued at $99 which includes Personal Accident Insurance. And there’s more (it’s ok, you don’t get a set of steak knives…), the QCLTA are also providing every member with a welcome pack including a club shirt, drink bottle and more!
A huge thanks goes to the QCLTA committee for their initiative in helping make tennis affordable and accessible to everyone in the community!
2014 MORNINGSIDE TENNIS CLUB MEMBERSHIP: $12.00
2014 MORNINGSIDE TENNIS CLUB GROUP MEMBERSHIP: $150.00 (For groups or schools wishing to retain a permanent court booking but not to become individual members – This membership will give the group access to court hire at members rates however the individuals within the group will not be given any of the additional benefits (e.g. Tennis Queensland Membership, discounted Social Tennis, Members Welcome Pack, etc.).

SUPERLEAGUE
There are a couple of small changes to Superleague in 2014 that we think will make things even more enjoyable. Firstly we’re switching from individual registration to team registration. Registration will cost $150.00 per team and can be split between all players in the team. Each team requires a minimum of two players, however we recommend having at least three players per team to avoid forfeiting matches.
It is up to the captain of each team to work out a roster and find fill-ins if necessary. If you can’t find anyone to fill in our staff will provide you with a list of players that might be able to assist you. If you have to forfeit a match then a forfeit fee ($72.00) will be issued to the team captain – this can be split between the team as you see fit – obviously we want to try to avoid this so please get in contact with our staff and we will give you a big list of players you can try.
Individual registration is still available for players looking to join a team – please contact the centre for more information and a trial session if necessary.
Nominations for Superleague close Friday, December 6. Please contact the centre if you wish to enter a team or would like to enter as an individual (a partner of a similar standard will be found) ASAP to guarantee your spot. THE TEAM REGISTRATION PAYMENT OF $150.00 IS REQUIRED UPON NOMINATION.
COACHING
There will be a few small changes to the coaching program structure in 2014. Firstly, all members of the coaching program will be required to become members of the Morningside Tennis Centre. New members to the coaching program will be required to pay a Joining Fee of $36 which includes Morningside Tennis Centre and Tennis Queensland Membership, all existing members of the program will be required to pay the $12 membership fee. Up to this point members of the coaching program have not automatically become members of the MTC and have therefore not been eligible for members’ discounts on court hire, we’re very excited to be able to offer these discounts to our coaching students in 2014!
Fees
There will be a small increase in coaching fees for 2014. Our coaching fees have not increased at any stage in the past three years and we consider ourselves to be the best value of all of the major centres in Brisbane, even with the price increase. We’d also like to note that while our fees have gone up, we’ll now be absorbing the Direct Debit Fees that has previously been charged by Ezidebit on each transaction. All coaching fees have been listed below with the average price of the other centres listed for comparison:

We’re very excited about the changes to the Morningside Tennis Centre for 2014 and along with the additional upgrades we’ll be making to the facilities at the club we think we’re set to become Brisbane’s premier tennis club with plenty on offer for everyone!
