In a huge weekend for the Morningside Tennis Centre the club was announced as both the 2014 Queensland Tennis Club of the Year and 2014 Tennis Australia Most Outstanding Club. The latter award was announced at the prestigious Newcombe Medal Award at the Crown Palladium in Melbourne and was attended by Tennis Gear owners Mark and Melissa Bloomfield, MTC Manager Rob Daley and partner Jane Dennis and Assistant Manager Benita Smith.
The awards are a fantastic recognition not only of the huge success of the centre over the past 3 years but also of the hard work that has been put in by all of the staff and coaches. The centre has gone from having just 130 members 2012 to nearly 1600 in 2014 and the coaching program has increased from just 150 weekly participants to over 600. We now can boast the largest Hot Shots coaching program in all of Australia at a single venue and have the second largest amount of Superleague teams in the Tennis Brisbane fixtures behind only our fellow Tennis Gear centre, Shaw Park.
