With Season 1 of the Tennis Brisbane Superleague competition reaching the pointy end of the season it’s time to start getting the teams organised for Season 2. 2013 has been a fantastic year for the Morningside teams with 19 of our 22 teams currently in finals contention and over 70 players representing the club in the competition.
Next season will see a couple of small changes to our teams, particularly for the mid-week matches. Due to the popularity of the centre and overwhelming demand for court hire and coaching we’re going to have a few less available courts for our Superleague teams on some nights however we’re now also taking entries for a new night, Thursdays.
We’ve currently got spots for the following amount of teams:
Tuesday evening – 6 teams
Wednesday evening – 4 teams
Thursday evening – 4 teams
Saturday afternoon – 12 teams
This will allow us to enter some additional teams across the week and welcome some new players into the competition. It’s going to be a requirement for all teams to have 3 players (or 2 players and a reserve) – please also be aware that even though it’s a 2 player competition, 3 players can play each week (you end up playing 2 sets each instead of three, the cost is $12 per player instead of $18).
All the teams currently playing in Season 1 will receive priority for the upcoming season however we do need to get those teams in asap to secure a spot.
