School Tennis Coaching

Hot Shots tennis is Tennis Australia’s official starter program. It is designed to let children develop technically and tactically in an environment that is always fun and exciting. Aimed at children aged 4-12 years old, it uses modified courts, racquets and balls to keep things fun and easy. The Junior Tennis Coaching Program is based on a “learning through play” philosophy where children serve, rally and score. At Tennis Gear our experienced coaching team run a tailored program designed to develop each child’s game in a fun, encouraging and social environment. Ages 4-16 years old.
Class duration of 45 or 60 minutes.
Before and after school options available.
Qualified Coaches.
Average student to coach ratio 6:1.

We encourage students and players to bring the following equipment to their lessons racquet, hat, sport shoes, sunscreen and water bottle.

TennisGear and the Morningside Tennis Centre launched their school tennis coaching programs in 2012 at St Martins Primary School, Carina. Additional coaching programs swiftly followed at Cannon Hill Anglican College, St Oliver Plunkett School, Tingalpa, and St. Peters and Pauls. Led by our talented Senior Coaching staff, our school tennis programs are thriving. Across TennisGear’s six centres we teach thousands of children in local schools the skills they need to enjoy playing tennis, inspiring them to take part in this great sport.

The coaching program at St Martins is led by Morningside Tennis Centre Head Coach, Diego Diaz. Lessons are conducted on the school court and also on the community courts on Mayfield Road.
